The Balkans seminar took place in Sarajevo and Skopje from 2001 to 2003.
The seminar was organized in cooperation with Macedonian Institute for
the Media and the Media Center. The participants put together stories on
the themes of Gender and Environment. We followed an
intensive training program focusing on producing single images and pictures
stories. Two books of the projects were published and the group exhibition
was held in Amsterdam during the Awards days. Tutors were: Anja Niederinghaus
(Associated Press AP Geneva), Peter Bialobrzeski (Laif Agency), Bruno Stevens,
Yunghi Kim (Kontakt Press Images, New York), Colin Jacobson (is the founder
and editor of Reportage), Paul Lowe (Grazia Neri in Milan)
